Find Your People

"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." - Proverbs 27:17

You were never meant to do this life alone. No matter how strong you think you are, no matter how committed you are to following Jesus, you need people around you who are running in the same direction. You need Christian friends who are walking the same road, looking to the same Master, and pushing you toward the life God is calling you to live.

The truth is, who you surround yourself with matters. Big time. The people in your circle influence your mindset, your choices, and your growth. If you are trying to build a life of faith but spend all your time with people who have no desire to follow Jesus, it is only a matter of time before their worldview starts to rub off on you. That doesn’t mean you can’t have friends who believe differently. But your inner circle, the people who speak into your life, who you lean on for advice, who challenge and encourage you, need to share your foundation.

Christian friendship is about more than just hanging out. It is about sharpening each other. It is about having people who will pray with you when life is heavy, who will remind you of truth when your mind is full of lies, who will celebrate your wins and call you out when you are drifting off course. You need people who love Jesus and love you enough to help you stay the course.

That doesn’t mean you have to agree on everything. You might have different opinions, different backgrounds, and different ways of seeing things. But at the core, you are both surrendered to the same Lord, and that gives your friendship a strength and depth that nothing else can.

Who is sharpening you today? Who is in your corner, pushing you closer to Jesus? And just as important, who are you sharpening? God designed us to walk this road together. If you don’t have that kind of community yet, start praying for it and seeking it out. Find your people. Because when you surround yourself with others who are running hard after God, you are so much stronger than you could ever be alone.
