Right Where You Are

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." – Matthew 5:14

You are not where you are by accident. God has intentionally and strategically placed you exactly where you are right now. Not just for your benefit, but so you can be a living, breathing example of what following Him looks like. Whether you realize it or not, your life is influencing the people around you every single day.

It’s easy to think you’ll make an impact for God “later,” when you’re in a better job, a different city, or a more comfortable season. But the truth is, God has already positioned you to make an impact right where you are. The people you interact with at work, in your neighborhood, at the gym, or even in your own home are not there by chance. You may be the only reflection of Jesus they see today.

Being a living example doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. It means living in such a way that your faith is visible in the way you speak, act, and treat others. It’s showing patience when it would be easier to snap. It’s choosing honesty when lying would be more convenient. It’s offering kindness when no one expects it. Those moments may feel small, but they speak volumes to a watching world.

God places His people like lights in the darkness, not to blend in, but to stand out. When you live with integrity, love, and faithfulness in the middle of everyday life, you’re showing others that following Jesus isn’t just about church on Sunday, it’s about how you live every moment of the week.

So stop waiting for a “better” time or place to make a difference. Your mission field is right in front of you. God has placed you there on purpose, and He will use your faithfulness to open hearts and plant seeds you may never see fully grow.

Shine where you are today. Live as if someone’s picture of Jesus depends on it, because for someone, it does.

Thank you for your service this weekend Pastor Ed. Got back Friday late night and headed out of town again Tuesday. It was so nice to be able to go in person yesterday. I’m gonna keep praying for God to use me. Gotta stay close in my spirit if I’m gonna be on the road so much like this.

It is no mistake that these devotions are sent as messages from God. They speak to me everyday. Yesterday at our service I have a friend that attends. Her hand finally raised as she stands firm in her faith as a follower of Jesus. That was huge as I patiently attempt to show her that all are welcomed in His home. Having Devine purpose is one of the gifts from Jesus I treasure. Thank you and prayers for all those that have been affected recently with our climate crisis and this spiritual warfare that is taking place. Also friends yesterday there was a gentleman that poured his heart out in a message here, let’s please pray for Jonathan.

Thank you so much for inspiring daily devotions! They help me start my morning off with Jesus and positivity. I love the Lord and I want to always be a vessel for Him. I met Ed Newton at super wow church camp. I was a teen leader from my church and I remember not wanting the week to end! So many blessings were shared throughout the week! Thanking God for Ed’s ministry!
