The Miracle Maker Hasn’t Retired

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." - Hebrews 13:8

Somewhere along the way, many of us started to believe that miracles were a thing of the past. We read about them in the Bible and nod in awe as if they were only reserved for another time, another people, a different era. We read about seas parting, blind eyes opening, and the dead being raised to life. But when we look at our lives today, it can feel like those kinds of moments are missing.

But understand, God has not changed. He’s still in the miracle business. He didn’t run out of power or put a pause on the supernatural when the last page of Scripture was written. The same God who opened the eyes of the blind is still opening spiritual eyes today. The same God who healed broken bodies is still healing hearts, minds, relationships, and yes, even physical ailments now. Just because the miracles might look different does not mean they are any less real.

A miracle is when heaven invades earth. It’s when something happens that could not happen without God. So maybe your miracle isn’t a parting sea, but it’s the peace that comes in the middle of your storm. Maybe it’s the breakthrough in your addiction, the restoration of a broken marriage, or the provision that came out of nowhere when you didn’t know how you would make it another week. Those aren’t coincidences. They are fingerprints of a God who still moves.

Sometimes, we miss the miracles because we are only looking for the dramatic. But miracles happen in quiet ways, too. In unexpected moments. In ways that may not get headlines but still shift lives. He is still able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think. He is still healing. Still saving. Still delivering. Still showing up in power.

If you are in need of a miracle, do not stop praying. Do not stop believing. The Miracle Maker has not forgotten you. He is still working. He is still moving. And nothing is outside His power. Nothing.

I am currently going through a breakup yet I have so much peace and joy. Knowing that God is performing miracles in my life in such a shattering time is my biggest comfort. How amazing it is to know we have a God who uses every bitter even to His glory and our benefit and comfort. I have been studying John for the first time in a while and I love John 1:3- "All things came into being through Him..." That resonates with me because rather than saying 'by' Him, it is 'through' Him. While Satan creates a lot of horrible things, God wouldn't allow it to happen if He knew it wouldn't bring Him glory in the end. It is all part of HIS plan. Although not my own, it is ALWAYS for the best.
