God Can Use Your Pain as Your Platform
“He comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” - 2 Corinthians 1:4
Pain has a way of making us feel isolated. It whispers lies that nobody understands, that our story is too broken to be useful, and that God must have overlooked us. But what if your greatest pain is the very place God wants to bring His greatest purpose?
Scripture is full of stories where God uses people in the middle of pain, not after it. Paul was in prison, still writing letters that would shape the Church forever. Joseph was betrayed and locked away before being elevated to a position that would save lives. Even Jesus, in the agony of the cross, brought salvation to the world. God does not wait for the pain to end to start using your life. He works right in the middle of it.
You may be going through something that hurts deeply. A loss, a disappointment, a betrayal, or a failure. And while God may not have caused it, He will not waste it. Your wounds can become someone else’s hope. Your scars can become a testimony that heals others. What God has brought you through or is bringing you through can become the exact platform He uses to reach the people around you.
Pain gives your voice credibility. It makes your comfort believable. It turns your survival into someone else’s survival guide. You don’t need a microphone or a stage to have a platform. You just need to be willing to share what God has done, even if the story is still unfolding.
Your pain is not the end of your story. It might actually be the beginning of your most impactful ministry. God can redeem it, restore it, and repurpose it. So stand on it, speak from it, and let God use it. You never know who needs to hear what you’ve been through just to believe that healing is possible for them, too.

Thank you Pastor Ed, the pain I still have is the loss of both my parents. But the good from this pain is that they both got saved before they got sick and passed away. Then our son the same way I rededicated my life to the lord as well as my son getting saved there at CBC when pastor roberts was still there in 2016. And then he passed away in 2020. I have learned that Gid has used me to lead some of the homeless to the Lord and the Holy Spirit used me in a great way. As well as leading others to the Lord in my travels and in the San Antonio area. Even in the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association who I ride with in the Chapter I was appointed as the Chaplain. God has used that through my testimony others see the difference in my walk. And I humble myself and give my Lord Jesus Christ all of the glory. The pain in all of it is that I see God using me in his ministry. Praise God.
Pastor Ed you alway remind us that our pain is never wasted. It truly helps us stay grounded in the Lord. Thank you once again for the encouragement. May the love you give be the love you will always receive.
thanks Pastor Ed for today's Devo, much love and joy in our Lord Jesus Christ
Reminds me of Mother Theresa following the example of Christ. In Corinthians it talks about expelling the evil doers from you and handing them over to the devil. I understand Paul was talking about the incest but it makes me think of how Jesus sat with sinners. How he suffered with us and for us so that we might be saved. She got down and lived with the homeless instead of teaching them from a distance in comfort. Kind of like I don’t have the answers but we can find them together. I think God humbles Himself like this. In the spirit I have seen it is more important to be nobody because then I can join everyone and on their level instead of my own. It doesn’t matter what I know. What matters is that they don’t have to be alone anymore. We can comfort them in that way. Anyway I guess I am just reminiscing at this point. I had some amazing experiences like that and it’s reminding me of what’s really important. Thanks for listening
This is so so true and relevant, thank you for the powerful on time reminder!!!!
