Don’t Wait to Be Perfect to Be Used by God
“But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong.” - 1 Corinthians 1:27
One of the biggest lies the enemy will try to get you to believe is that you have to have it all together before God can use you. That you need to be more qualified, more disciplined, more educated, or more spiritual before you step into the purpose God has for you. But if that were true, none of us would ever be used for anything.
Throughout Scripture, God makes it clear that He is not interested in perfection. He is interested in availability. God uses broken people with messy pasts and ongoing struggles to accomplish His plans. He is not looking for someone who checks every box. He is looking for someone who will say yes.
That includes you. God does not need you to wait until your life looks cleaner or your resume looks stronger. The same God who used fishermen, tax collectors, and even persecutors of the church is ready to work through your life right now. His power is not limited by your weaknesses. His grace is not held back by your imperfections.
What if the very thing you think disqualifies you is the reason God wants to use you? What if your past, your pain, or your current challenge is what God wants to redeem for His glory? You are not behind. You are not late. You are right on time for the work God wants to do through you.
So do not hold back. Do not delay obedience because you feel like you are not enough. God never asked you to be perfect. He asked you to follow. And when you do, He supplies what you lack. He equips what you bring. He uses who you are, right where you are, to change the world around you.
Say yes today, even if it feels small. Even if you feel unready. God is ready, and that is all that matters.

Lord I thank you that you allowed me to rededicate my life to you. As a prodigal son, lord, you have forgiven me.And as I rededicated my life to you, lord, I will do everything to do.What's right?I didn't have to be perfect. You saw the brokenness in my life, and you've taken me and you have been using me in the church is a prayer warrior as a servant is a man who loves you lord.Thank you.Thank you, pastor ed.Thank you for that great message. And you're right, pastorette, we don't have to be perfect. I thank again Lord . I am so thankful that we don't have to be perfect lord.Because if that was the case, a lot of people would be lost.
Thank you God for your servant and leader Pastor Ed and all the staff at CBC. Thank you Holy Spirit for giving Pastor Ed these sermons that seem to speak to so many, all at once. This last Sunday was a good one. One that answered many questions for my curious mind. I am thankful to You God for Pastor Ed and everyone around him that helps bring Your message to Your people, Your followers, Your church. Your will God… Jesus over everything.
Thank you Lord for the vision you gave me that I don’t have to have everything in place to start because what you have given me you will perfect and supply everything and every person that will need to be connected to the vision. This is confirmation to get back in sync with the vision for it to be manifested!
I often think I'm not perfect enough for God to love me and/or to accept me but this just confirms to me that I don't need to be, I mean I do try my best everyday but always fall short for some reason. I thank my brothers and sisters in Christ posting here their comments because it helps me to see and understand that I'm not the only one that struggles. Thank your Lord for our Pastor (Ed) for his heart, for his leadership and because he encourages me to be a humble person.
Thank you Pastor Ed. It makes me happy to see everyone here so grateful for the work you do in the church. Your life reflects the vision of Gods will for us and I believe that it brings hope to so many people. It used to be impossible for me to believe and now sometimes it can even get hard to believe that the grace of God through our Lord Jesus Christ is offered to people like us. Somewhere in the scripture it says be perfect for your Father in Heaven is perfect. It’s one of those hard to fully understand items in scripture for me but this morning it is clear. He has made us perfect with Jesus Christ. Not just that He sees Christ instead of us but also that He knows us inside and out. He gets the struggle. He sees what we sometimes can’t see. Instead of the old enemy self pity that tells me I am bad He tells me I am loved. His grace truly is sufficient for us. So we ought to pass on that love and grace to our brothers and sisters here in this world just as He has given us the same. And I pray that for those still living in darkness we can carry His light to them. Open their eyes and be the good news Jesus has died for in order to set us free. Simple but not always easy. Love you guys
Amen Amen and Amen!! God can and will use anyone!!?????
Thank you Pastor Ed for your inspirational daily devotions. I always feel rejuvenated after reading my morning devotional!
