Don’t Settle for Less Than God’s Best

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think" - Ephesians 3:20

One of the biggest traps believers fall into is settling for less than what God has planned. We crave control, we crave comfort, and we choose the familiar path instead of waiting on God’s full blessing. It feels safer to grab what we can see now rather than trust Him for something greater later. But when we do this, we often end up living beneath the level of joy, peace, and purpose He intends for us.

Think about the Israelites in the wilderness. God had promised them a land flowing with milk and honey, but along the way, they grumbled and wanted to return to Egypt. Even though Egypt represented slavery, at least it was familiar. They were willing to settle for less because the journey to God’s best required faith, patience, and courage. Many of us do the same today. We hold on to habits, relationships, or jobs that are “good enough” instead of waiting for the “God enough” He wants to give us.

The truth is, God’s best always requires surrender and trust. It may not come in your timing. It may stretch you out of your comfort zone. It may even feel risky. But when you step into obedience and wait for His direction, He will exceed your expectations in ways you couldn’t imagine.

If you are tempted right now to grab what’s easy or settle for “good enough,” pause and ask God to renew your vision. Remind yourself of His character and His promises. He is not a God of leftovers. He is a God of abundance, purpose, and intentionality.

Today, resist the urge to settle. Walk in faith and patience. Let your choices show that you believe God’s plan for your life is worth waiting for and worth trusting, even when it requires courage. His best is always better than anything you could settle for on your own.

Thank you Pastor Ed. I have been in a season and been in a job and stayed there because it is “good enough”! Love the reminder to just surrender and let God guide me.

I have already surrendered all, including my job waiting on my true heart’s desires but it seems like I’m the only one that wants to see me in ministry. Waiting on the Lord patiently for my next move. Thank you pastor Ed.

Thank you Pastor Ed. Service was great yesterday. I really enjoy getting to go in person. His plan is always better than mine. Starting to use that time a little better while I’m waiting to prepare for the blessing that hasn’t yet come to fruition.

I left my job that was not providing and extremely toxic and stressful. I am learning to be more faithful than ever. I have met some amazing people in the past 10 days at CBC. I’m grateful that I’m healing and growing too! Will be at the 2 o’clock service today with my new fellowship friends.
