God’s Faithfulness Is Proven in the Fire

"When you walk through fire you shall not be burned and the flame shall not consume you" - Isaiah 43:2

It is one thing to believe God is faithful when life is easy. It is another thing entirely to trust Him when everything around you feels like it is on fire. The trials, the heartbreaks, the setbacks. They come in waves sometimes. And in those moments, it is tempting to wonder if God has stepped away.

But the fire is not evidence of His absence. In fact, it is often where His faithfulness is revealed most clearly. How is this possible? When the heat turns up and the pressure builds, that is where God begins to show up. It’s where He carries you, refines you, and strengthens your faith. He does not always pull you out of the fire. Sometimes, He chooses to walk with you in it. But it’s in these moments that God teaches you things you never otherwise would have learned.

It is easy to praise when the blessings are flowing. But it is powerful to worship when the flames are all around you. That kind of faith does not come from comfort. It comes from knowing your God is who He says He is, even when your situation says otherwise.

God is not waiting on the other side of your hardship. He is right in the middle of it with you. Every step, every tear, every prayer whispered through clenched teeth. He is there. And when the smoke clears, you will see that what should have destroyed you only deepened your trust in Him.

If you are in the fire today, hold tight to this truth. The flames will not win. God is faithful. He has been before, and He will be again. Let the fire prove it.

I'm right in the middle of a fire! Since May, I was diagnosed with oral oropharyngel cancer stage 4A. Had surgery on June 22nd. They had to remove 1/2 of my tongue, did a skin graph from my thigh for my tongue. Took 22 lymph nodes only came back 3 were cancer. Had a tracheotomy. Spent a week in ICU. THE AUGUST 13 started 30 rounds of radiation, finished September 24th. To say its been a whirlwind. But God has given me strength to get through it! But healing now from the radiation is so hard, my faith is being tested for sure. I am in so much pain, my tongue hurts all the time, & cant really eat. So in the fire fir sure in need of prayers to keep me strong. Thank you

Kelly I have had to deal with cancer and radiation and extreme pain. It is definitely a test of faith but hold on as He is with you and will take you through to the other side. I will be praying for your healing and strength.

Father God, Thank you for your presence with Kelly as she's gone through surgery and radiation. LORD, I pray that You will heal Kelly from the effects of radiation, please take away her pain, and allow her to eat and enjoy food again. Savior, restore her health. Thank you, God, our mighty healer. In Jesus' Name I pray ? Amen.

God's timing is perfect. My grown kids are under attack. My heart aches, but I am trusting in God because I know He is working all things together. Thank you, Pastor Ed, for bringing these daily devotions that meet us where we are and when we need them. May God continue to work through you & CBC for His glory.

Please God, fight for our adult children. Don't not let them be consumed by fire. Rescue them, LORD. Know our hearts desire for our children to be protected by you. POUR out your mercy, grace, and unfailing love upon them. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. ?

Really hitting home today Pastor Ed. Thank you for this reminder today. God is always with us. You shall walk in the fire and not be burned. I’ve been through the fire and it’s terrible. It’s scary. It’s lonely. When I hear people like Kelly hear cry out for help nothing else matters but just getting that help. So my prayer and I hope all of our prayer today is for God to pour out His love on our friends here today. And He is faithful. When two agree on something… when two or three gather together in my name I will be with them. If you have even a mustard seed of faith you can tell this mountain to move and it will. If you believe with no doubt ask anything in my name and it will be done. Nothing matters right now but experiencing Gods love. Nothing else. Please join me in prayer.
