Sometimes All God Wants Is Your Yes

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.’” - Isaiah 6:8

God is not always looking for the most qualified or the most prepared. He is often simply looking for the most willing. When He places something in front of you, it is not always about your strength or ability to figure it out. Sometimes, He just wants your yes.

Yes means surrender. It means you stop holding back. You stop negotiating, delaying, or overthinking. When God nudges your heart, your simple yes can become the starting point for something greater than you imagined. You might not know the full plan, but God does, and He will take your obedience and do more with it than you ever could.

There is a pattern in Scripture where God moves through people who were not the obvious choice. He used hesitant hearts, reluctant mouths, and insecure leaders. But their stories shifted the moment they said yes. It was never about perfection. It was about obedience.

Maybe you have been feeling unqualified or uncertain. Maybe you are waiting for a sign or a better time. But what if the only thing standing between you and the next move of God in your life is your yes? What if the breakthrough is waiting on the other side of your surrender?

You do not have to know the outcome. You just need to trust the One who is calling. Your yes might feel small, but in God’s hands, it is the spark that ignites purpose. Do not underestimate what He can do with a willing heart. Say yes, even if it is trembling. Say yes, even if you feel unprepared. Say yes and watch what God does with it.

Yes

Profound wisdom in these devotionals ... day after day ... too good not to share on my FB with others! I lead a CBC Community Group called PAIN TO PURPOSE and when Pastor Ed says "Your yes might feel small, but in God’s hands, it is the spark that ignites purpose" I say YES and AMEN. The PAIN that took me down the slippery slope to suicidal ideation - God has transformed it into my PURPOSE. But it all starts with trusting HIM. HALLELUJAH! YES, LORD!
