Positioned for Purpose

“To whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.” – Luke 12:48

When God opens a door for you, when He gives you influence or visibility or elevation in any area of your life, it’s never just about comfort or recognition. It is never for the sake of your status or to help you build your name. It’s always about purpose. Always about His glory.

You were not positioned high to take it easy. You were not promoted to coast. The more God gives, the more He expects. Not out of pressure, but out of stewardship. You are responsible for using what He has given to fulfill what He has called. If God has trusted you with something, it’s because He has a reason for it. There is a purpose for your position.

The danger comes when you start to think the blessing is the destination. It’s not. It’s a launching pad. Every new level of opportunity comes with a new level of responsibility. So if God has lifted you up in this season, the question is not how comfortable can you get. The question is, how faithful will you be?

God never wastes a platform. He gives it so that you can reflect His light, not just enjoy your spotlight. You might be the only light some people will see in the room He has placed you in. So do not take your seat lightly. Do not settle in as if the work is done. The platform is not the finish line. It’s the starting gate for a greater purpose.

Stay humble. Stay ready. Stay obedient. Because when you keep God at the center, He’ll continue to expand your reach, not for your name, but for His. And when He does, you’ll look back and realize He positioned you exactly where He needed you, for exactly what He intended, and it was never about your status. It was always about His glory.

Wow Pastor Ed. Thank you. The word spotlight stuck out to me there. I think the spotlight only sounds good to people who have never really had it on them. I do and have often prayed for His spotlight to shine down on me though. To reveal all that is unrighteous in me. It was great news to discover God but wow did it come with some serious revelations. When I was asked whether I wanted the truth or the lie I wasn’t even really sure which one I wanted. Now I pray for truth despite the pain it may cause. God is so good though. I have learned the “depth” of His love for me. It’s big.
