Wisdom In Worship

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!” - Psalm 111:10

True worship is not just singing songs on Sunday. It is living in reverent awe of God every day, and this reverence is the foundation of all wisdom.

The Psalmist connects worship and wisdom in a beautiful way. When we truly understand who God is, our natural response is worship, and this worship cultivates wisdom in our hearts. "Practice it" refers to practicing the fear of the Lord, living in constant awareness of His holiness, power, and love.

Worship is not just an emotional experience. It is a declaration of truth about God's character that shapes how we see everything else. When we worship God for His faithfulness, we gain wisdom about trusting Him in uncertain times. When we worship Him for His love, we gain wisdom about our identity and worth. When we worship Him for His sovereignty, we gain wisdom about surrendering control.

I have noticed that my best decisions usually come after times of genuine worship. There is something about focusing on God's greatness that puts my problems in perspective and clears my thinking. Recently, I was struggling with anxiety about a situation at church. After spending time in worship, singing about God's faithfulness, the path forward became clear. Worship had realigned my heart and renewed my mind.

Set aside time today for intentional worship. Put on some worship music, read a psalm aloud, or simply spend time thanking God for who He is. Notice how this time of worship affects your perspective on the challenges you are facing.

Prayer:
Father, I worship You for who You are. You are holy, faithful, loving, and sovereign. As I lift my heart in praise, align my thoughts with Your truth. Let my worship of You cultivate wisdom in my heart and clarity in my thinking. Help me live each day in reverent awe of Your greatness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
