Wisdom In Generosity
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” - 2 Corinthians 9:7
True generosity flows from a heart that understands how much we have been given by God. Wisdom teaches us to give joyfully and strategically.
Paul teaches us that the attitude behind our giving is as important as the amount. God does not want reluctant obedience or giving that is motivated by guilt or pressure. He wants cheerful givers who understand that everything we have belongs to Him and that giving is a privilege, not a burden.
Wise generosity is both joyful and strategic. We give because we love God and want to advance His kingdom, but we also think carefully about how to maximize the impact of our gifts. This might mean supporting missionaries, helping the poor, or investing in ministries that multiply our influence for the gospel.
When Stephanie and I were young and had very little money, we decided to start tithing anyway. It seemed impossible at the time, but we trusted God to provide. Not only did He meet our needs, but He also began to change our hearts about money. We learned that we could not out-give God and that generosity brings joy that material possessions never could. That early lesson in giving has shaped our entire approach to finances.
Evaluate your giving patterns. Are you giving cheerfully or reluctantly? Are you being strategic about how your gifts can make the greatest impact for God's kingdom? Consider increasing your giving or finding new ways to be generous with your time and talents.

Father, thank You for Your incredible generosity to me. Help me give with the same cheerful spirit that You have shown me. Give me wisdom to be strategic in my generosity and joyful in my giving. Show me opportunities to bless others and advance Your kingdom through my resources. In Jesus' name, Amen.
