Wisdom In Evangelism

"But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” - 1 Peter 3:15

Sharing our faith requires wisdom to know when to speak, what to say, and how to say it in a way that honors Christ and respects others.

Peter gives us a balanced approach to evangelism. We should always be prepared to share the reason for our hope, but we should do it with gentleness and respect. This means we need to know what we believe and why we believe it, but we also need to be sensitive to the person we are talking with and the situation we are in.

Wise evangelism starts with honoring Christ as Lord in our hearts. When our own relationship with Jesus is strong, it naturally overflows into conversations with others. People are more likely to be interested in what we have to say when they see the difference Christ makes in our lives.

I used to think evangelism meant having all the right arguments and being able to win debates about faith. But I learned that people are more interested in authentic relationships than perfect presentations. Some of the most effective evangelistic conversations I have had started with someone asking me about how I handled a difficult situation or why I seemed to have peace in the midst of stress.

Look for natural opportunities to share your faith today. This might mean telling someone how God helped you through a challenge, inviting someone to church, or simply living in a way that makes people curious about the hope you have.

Prayer:
Lord, help me honor You as Lord in my heart so that my life becomes a natural testimony to Your goodness. Give me wisdom to know when and how to share my faith with others. Help me be prepared to give an answer for the hope I have, but do it with gentleness and respect. Use me to draw others to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I just noticed my previous response had a misspelled word. Some how Islamic was typed in and that is not what I typed. It must have been a typo correction but certainly not what I meant to type. I was referring to thanks for reminding me that my words don’t have to be perfect . Just want to clarify that. Grateful to Jesus the King always and forever.
