Contentment In Waiting
"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” - Psalm 27:14
Waiting is one of the most difficult aspects of the Christian life. We live in a culture of instant everything, and when God's timing does not match our timeline, we become restless and discontent. We wonder if God has forgotten us, if He cares about our situation, or if He is even listening to our prayers.
David understood the struggle of waiting. He was anointed as king years before he actually took the throne. He spent those in-between years running from Saul, hiding in caves, and wondering when God's promise would be fulfilled. Yet in the midst of his waiting, he learned to find strength and courage in the Lord.
Waiting is not passive; it is active trust. It is the choice to believe that God's timing is perfect even when it feels frustrating. It is the decision to keep doing what is right even when the results are not immediate. It is the discipline of finding contentment in the process rather than demanding satisfaction in the outcome.
God's delays are not God's denials. He is working in ways you cannot see, preparing you for things you cannot imagine, and orchestrating circumstances for your good and His glory. The waiting season is not wasted time; it is preparation time. God is developing character, building faith, and teaching you to depend on Him in ways that prosperity never could.
Instead of fighting the waiting, embrace it. Use this time to grow closer to God, to develop patience, and to learn that your contentment is not dependent on your circumstances changing. Find strength in His presence and courage in His promises.
Prayer:
Lord, waiting is hard for me. I want to see Your promises fulfilled now, but I know Your timing is perfect. Help me to find contentment in the waiting seasons of life. Strengthen my heart and give me courage to trust You even when I cannot see what You are doing. Thank You that You are always working for my good. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Yes sir. I’m in the waiting myself but I’m trusting. Well depending more like it. Trying to hold fast to the do what you can with what you have. God has always provided and there’s no reason why He would stop being Himself now. I have a buddy who is going through it now as well. Not to mention all the people in our church who are also struggling. We are all in this together and He is working all things for our good. Thank you Pastor Ed.

I went through a waiting period last year but during that period I don’t think I had ever felt closer to Jesus. I’m so grateful to you Jesus for the peace that surpasses all understanding. My prayers were answered. Amen
