Contentment As A Witness
"Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.” - Philippians 2:14–16

But when we choose gratitude over grumbling, we declare that our God is sufficient for every need and worthy of our trust in every situation.

This verse has got me through some of the hardest times in my life. I received so many powerful demonstrations by literally going to work with this on my heart. Also though the very first thing I learned about all this “stuff with God” is that honesty is the only key that opens the door. It also keeps the door open. The fake it til you make it stuff robbed me of some twenty years of my life. Back then I didn’t know God so i lied about so much stuff. I really meant well too. The truth though was what set me free. I had to be brutally honest with myself, with God, and also with the world. It had to radiate out from me in every single area. What happened when I did this was remarkable. It was like i discovered a new power and at first I really did in a way. God doesn’t care about a shiny polished story to convince anyone. What He cares about is being real and sincere. His power and His presence is all the hope anyone ever needs. His grace truly is sufficient. Now I don’t always like my circumstances, but I also am responsible for my circumstances too. Even in the darkest of nights when the whole world and everyone I had ever known in it turned their backs on me Jesus stayed so close to me and proved His faithfulness time and time again. The Father also disciplined me in a way I thought was extreme but later I saw nothing but mercy. That is the price i paid for my faith. I really have to say right now I am very grateful for Mari right now as an example for posting their difficult circumstances on here. It touched my heart and gave me an opportunity to pray for them. We bear each others burdens and really I find myself seeing my burdens play out even in your life Pastor Ed. You’re just like anyone else really in our church but on stage and easy to listen to your difficulties there. I went through those same difficulties. Anyway I just wanted to share the importance honesty has made in my life. They say closed mouths don’t get fed. Far from complaining or grumbling but with thanksgiving let your requests be made known. Love yall
