Everyday

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” - 1 Corinthians 15:58

When you hear the word, “consistent,” what does your mind go to? Are you a consistent person? Most people will immediately think of the things they are passionate about. That is where you will show the most consistency.

If you are a writer, you likely write pretty consistently. If you are an athlete, you might train for your sport pretty consistently. If you are a scientist, you might work on experiments regularly. Whatever it is, we are usually consistent with the things we really care about.

But when it comes to things we are not interested in, even if those things are good for us, we can procrastinate and forget what we should be doing.

My question for you today is, are you showing up for God every day? Are you reading His Word every day? Are you praying and communicating with Him every day? Are you finding ways to obey Him and pursue His purposes and plans for your life? Are you persistent in that every day?

God isn’t looking for someone who is here today and gone tomorrow. It is great to read your Bible for two hours one day. But if you don’t pick it up for the three months after that, what good is it? God wants us to be consistent in our relationship with Him. This is no different from any strong relationship we have.

The best relationships in our lives are not ones we tend to every now and then, but ones we stay consistent with. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”

God wants you to obey and pursue His will for your life. But that is an everyday thing. You can’t just do it when you want. Are you showing up for God every day?
