Qualifying the Called

"Moses said to the Lord, 'Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.' The Lord said to him, 'Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.'" - Exodus 4:10-12

Have you ever felt unqualified or ill-equipped for the task that God has called you to? Maybe you've doubted your abilities or questioned whether you have what it takes to make a difference. If so, you're not alone. Throughout history, God has consistently chosen the unqualified and the unlikely to accomplish His purposes.

Moses is a great example of someone who was not qualified from the beginning. When God called him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, Moses was hesitant and full of excuses. He doubted his own abilities, citing his lack of eloquence and confidence in speaking. But God's response to Moses is a powerful reminder of His sovereignty and His ability to equip those He calls.

God isn't interested in what we bring to the table. He's not looking for perfect resumes or impressive skill sets. Instead, He delights in using ordinary, flawed individuals to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. Why? Because when God works through the unqualified, the glory goes to Him alone.

You see, God doesn't need you to have all the answers or to be fully prepared for every challenge that comes your way. He simply asks for your obedience and your willingness to follow His leading. When you step out in faith and trust God to guide you, He will provide everything you need to fulfill His calling on your life.

Don't let feelings of inadequacy or self-doubt hold you back from embracing God's call. Remember that God qualifies the called. He sees your potential, He knows your heart, and He is more than able to equip you for every good work. Surrender yourself to His will, trust in His provision, and watch as He works miracles through your obedience.
