Balancing Community

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." - Matthew 28:19-20

In our walk of faith, finding a balance between surrounding ourselves with fellow believers and engaging with nonbelievers is crucial. As we discussed yesterday, having strong Christian friendships is vital for our spiritual growth and development. However, we are also called to reach out to those who do not yet know Jesus and share the love of Christ with them.

Jesus's Great Commission commands us to go and make disciples of all nations. This mandate extends beyond the walls of our churches and into the everyday moments of our lives. We are called to be salt and light in the world, shining the love of Jesus wherever we go.

While it's important to have Christian friends who encourage and challenge us in our faith, it's equally important to engage with nonbelievers and share the hope we have in Christ with them. Building relationships with those who do not share our faith provides us with opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus in tangible ways and share the good news of salvation with them.

Balancing our time between Christian community and engaging with nonbelievers requires intentionality and discernment. We must prayerfully consider how we can best fulfill the Great Commission in our daily lives while also nurturing our own faith and relationship with God.

Be intentional about seeking opportunities to engage with nonbelievers and share the love of Jesus with them. Whether it's through acts of kindness, conversations about faith, or simply being a listening ear, each interaction presents an opportunity to point others to Jesus.

As you navigate the balance between Christian community and outreach to nonbelievers, may you be guided by the Holy Spirit and empowered by God's love. Remember, we are called to be ambassadors for Christ, sharing His love and truth with the world around us. And as we faithfully obey His commands, He will work through us to expand His kingdom and bring glory to His name.
