Ignoring The Signals
"Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge." - Proverbs 19:27
As a human being, God gives each of us free will. God does not make choices for you. Instead, He allows you to choose freely. He allows you to choose what you do, when you do it, who you do it with, and how you do it. He gives us the freedom to make our own decisions. And while He doesn’t make decisions for us, He is gracious enough to give us warning signals when things come into our lives that are not good for us.
God, in His loving wisdom, often communicates with us through instruction, prompting us to discern the paths that align with His will. You might be able to reflect on instances when you've sensed a divine caution, a subtle warning urging you to reconsider a decision or course of action.
It is important that we consider the consequences that may unfold when we disregard the warnings God provides. Just as a road sign alerts us to potential dangers ahead, God's signals guide us away from harm. Ignoring these warnings can lead to unintended consequences and veer us off the path of knowledge and understanding.
Pause and reflect on any current situations where you may be tempted to overlook the warnings God is providing. Are there areas of your life where you sense His guidance, yet the allure of a different direction tempts you to ignore the divine signals?
Pray for discernment to recognize and heed God's warnings. Ask for the humility to submit to His guidance and the wisdom to follow the path of knowledge and understanding. Surrender any areas where you may be inclined to ignore divine signals, inviting God to redirect your course.
As you navigate life's journey, be attentive to the warnings God places along your path. Proverbs 19:27 encourages us to listen to His instructions, for in doing so, we stay aligned with the words of knowledge. May we be mindful of the divine signals, avoiding the consequences that may arise when we ignore the guidance God graciously provides.
