Ministry Gifts

“And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds, and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” - Ephesians 4:11-13

God has blessed all of His children with spiritual gifts. To some, He gives motivational gifts (as we discussed yesterday). To others, He gives ministry gifts. These are gifts He plans for us to use in ministry.

Ephesians 4:11-13 says, “And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds, and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”

The ministerial spiritual gifts are the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. God blesses people with these gifts for these specific roles.

He gives some the gift of evangelism to share the gospel with others. He gives some the gift of teaching, so they can teach about Him. And make no mistake about it, ministry gifts go beyond the church. God uses those with ministry gifts in all different capacities and all different vocations.

Maybe as you read this, you realize you have the gift of ministry. Maybe it is as a prophet, maybe as a pastor, evangelist, or teacher. Whatever it is, God gave you that gift for a specific purpose. Just like those He gave motivational and manifestation gifts, He wants you to use your specific gift to accomplish the purpose He has created you for.

Once you realize what your spiritual gift is, ask God how He wants you to use your gifts to accomplish His perfect plan and purpose for your life.
