Always Open
“Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.” - John 10:9
Have you ever had a late-night craving for a specific meal at a specific fast food restaurant? Maybe it’s a burger or a sandwich, or maybe it’s a dessert, like a milkshake or an ice cream sundae. You just can’t get that image out of your head, and you can’t stop thinking about how it would taste.
Maybe there is a commercial that comes across the TV and that is “your sign” to make a late-night run. So you grab the keys, get in the car, and off you go. The only problem is, when you get there, the restaurant is closed. It’s after hours, the lights are off, and the doors are locked. It’s too late.
Sometimes, the most frustrating thing is needing (or in this case wanting) to be somewhere and they are closed. You were too late, and now you don’t have another solution.
While that can be frustrating, I have good news for you: God’s door is always open. It is never too late to turn to God. John 10:9 says, “Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.”
No matter where you are in life, no matter what situation you find yourself in, or what you have done personally, you are never too late. If you are still breathing, God’s door is still open for you. And the best part? He ALWAYS wants you to come in.
God isn’t like the people on who work the closing shift, counting down the hours until they can lock the doors. God’s door is always open, and He is inviting you in with open arms. No matter what you have done, you cannot outrun the grace and mercy of God. Walk through His door today. It is always open, and He’s waiting for you inside!
