The Sacrifice of Pursuing God's Best
"Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'" - Matthew 16:24
In our journey of pursuing God's best, we've explored the importance of seeking it and the necessity of waiting for it. But there's another aspect to consider: the sacrifice required to obtain it.
God desires to give us His best, but often, it comes at a cost. It may require us to let go of something we hold dear, surrender our own desires and plans, or step out of our comfort zone. Are we willing to make those sacrifices?
Jesus made it clear that following Him involves sacrifice. He calls us to deny ourselves, to take up our cross, and to follow Him. It's not always easy, and it often requires us to lay down our own wants and wishes in order to fully embrace His will for our lives.
But here's the thing: sacrificing for God's best is always worth it. It may not always be easy or comfortable, but it is necessary if we truly want to experience the fullness of God's blessings and purpose for our lives.
Think about it for a moment. Some of the greatest blessings in life come through sacrifice. Whether it's sacrificing our time, our resources, our ambitions, or our desires, when we offer them up to God, He can use them in ways we never thought possible.
What are you willing to sacrifice for God's best? Is there something in your life that you need to let go of in order to fully pursue His will for you? Are you willing to lay it all down at His feet and trust Him to lead you into His perfect plan?
Sacrificing for God's best is not about giving up something good for something better, it's about surrendering our lives completely to Him, trusting that His plans for us are greater than anything we could ever imagine. And in the end, it's always worth it.
