Redefining Your Worth
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." – Genesis 1:27
Have you ever struggled with feeling like you’re not enough? Maybe you’ve tied your worth to what you achieve, how you look, or what others say about you. The world is quick to tell you that your value depends on how much you do, how much you have, or how well you measure up to its standards. But God’s Word tells a different story.
From the very beginning, God defined your worth by creating you in His image. You are not a random accident or an afterthought, you were designed with care and purpose by the Creator of the universe. Being made in God’s image means that your value isn’t something you earn; it’s something you were given the moment God formed you.
This truth redefines everything. When you realize that your worth comes from being made in God’s image, you no longer have to strive for approval from others or feel crushed by failure. Your value isn’t based on your performance, your possessions, or your popularity. It’s rooted in the fact that God Himself crafted you to reflect His character, His creativity, and His love.
Not only does this truth change how you see yourself, but it also changes how you see others. If every person is made in the image of God, then every life is sacred and valuable. That includes the person who frustrates you, the stranger you pass by, and even those who don’t share your beliefs. Recognizing this helps you treat others with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Stop measuring your worth by the world’s standards. Instead, rest in the truth that you are already enough because God made you in His image. When you embrace this, you can walk confidently, knowing your value comes from Him. Let that truth shape not only how you see yourself, but also how you live and how you love others. You are His masterpiece, intentionally and wonderfully made.

About a year ago I printed out this paper and put it on my wall. It says: Christ is in me. I am enough. I am enough because Christ is enough.

n“For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.”

This spoke to me today. After 16 years in the same company, I was laid off. After a few weeks of applying to several jobs, I have only gotten three callbacks and one Zoom interview. This has left me feeling like I am not enough. Like all the experience I've learned in my field, is not enough. Like nobody is willing to take a chance on me again. After reading today's devotional, I realize I need to firm up my faith that God will open doors and I am enough.
n
nPlease Jesus help me find the next opportunity where I can let Your love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control shine through me.
nAmen
