Chains Fall in His Presence
“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” - 2 Corinthians 3:17
Every person carries something that feels heavier than they want to admit. Some chains look obvious, like addiction or fear. Others hide deep beneath the surface, like insecurity, bitterness, or shame. You try to push forward, but something pulls you back. You try to break free, yet the struggle keeps returning. That kind of weight can make you feel powerless, but Scripture reminds you that bondage does not have the final say. When the presence of Jesus fills a life, chains do not stand a chance.
There are moments in the Gospels where people came face to face with Jesus while carrying battles they had fought for years. No strategy or strength could fix them. Yet the moment His authority entered the scene, everything changed. Fear lost its voice. Darkness lost its grip. Lives that had been tormented suddenly stepped into freedom. These moments were not about human effort. They were about divine power meeting human weakness.
That same authority is at work today. When you bring your struggle into the presence of Jesus, you are not depending on your strength to break what has held you. You are placing it under the rule of the One who reigns. His name carries power that reaches places your willpower cannot touch. His presence exposes the lies you believed for years. His Spirit brings freedom to areas you thought would always stay locked. What feels impossible in your hands is simple in His.
You may have spent a long time trying to fix yourself. You may have promised you would never struggle again, only to fall back into old patterns. Instead of trying harder, let your next step be surrender. Tell Jesus exactly where you feel bound. Invite His presence into the parts of your life that feel too dark or too heavy. Freedom begins when you stop fighting alone and let His authority take over.
If you feel stuck today, do not lose hope. Chains fall in His presence. Fear cannot stand where His name is lifted. Strongholds do not survive when the Spirit of the Lord fills a life. What you cannot break in your strength breaks instantly under His authority. He is enough. And He is ready to set you free.

Amen!! Thank you!!
Thank you Lord Jesus for your goodness. As a once broken vessel you took me and refurbished me to be better than I once was.
Lord you freed me from bondage so I pray and KNOW you will do the same for my children... "bondage does not have the final say. When the presence of Jesus fills a life, chains do not stand a chance" ????
Amen thank you
Great thoughts on how to engage the divine power on breaking strongholds!
Thank you Lord Father for the chains that you broke up off me. Help me see the chains I do not see or still carry so that I may surrender them to You. I am weak but You Father are my strength.
Your devotions are just amazing and everyone of them touches something in me with Jesus. I don’t have enough room in my email to save them all. Please make books out of them!!! Thank you pastor Ed. Thank you Jesus for the gift you e given him. Amen!
