You’re Richer Than You Realize

“My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19

When people think about wealth, money is usually the first thing that comes to mind. Bank accounts, income, possessions, and security often become the measure of whether someone feels rich or poor. That way of thinking is common, but it is incomplete. Scripture points to a broader and more meaningful definition of wealth, one that goes far beyond numbers on a screen. God has given you far more than you may recognize, and much of it cannot be measured in dollars.

Your life is filled with different kinds of capital. Relationships are one of them. The people God has placed around you are not random. Family, friends, coworkers, and even brief encounters all carry potential for impact. The way you listen, encourage, forgive, and show love holds value that money cannot replace. God often works through relationships to bring healing, direction, and hope to others.

You also carry intellectual capital. The experiences you have lived through, the lessons you have learned, and the wisdom you have gained matter. Even painful seasons become resources when God redeems them. Your story can guide someone else. Your insight can bring clarity where confusion lives. What you know and how you apply it can influence lives in ways you may never fully see.

Physical strength and ability are other forms of wealth. Your time, energy, and skills are gifts entrusted to you. Whether strong or limited, every ability can be used with purpose. Serving others, showing up faithfully, and working with integrity all flow from what God has placed in your hands.

Above all, you are rich spiritually. If you belong to Christ, you have access to grace, forgiveness, peace, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. These are treasures the world cannot offer and cannot take away. God did not load your life with these resources so they would sit unused. He gave them so they could be poured out.

If you have ever felt like you do not have enough to make a difference, pause and take inventory. God has already supplied what you need to live with impact. You may not feel wealthy by worldly standards, but in God’s economy, you are rich. When you steward what He has given you with faith and gratitude, He multiplies it for His purposes.

Thank you Pastor Ed,

nI have been attending CBC since 2002.

nI have been fortunate and blessed to see our church grow and be a part of the growth through tithing. I have learned many things from the Emeritus Pastor ROBERT Emmit as well I learn many spiritual and practical principles from you.

nThere have been and are other sincere and heart felt spiritualy driven pastors that have come up and through yours and others process. The Holy Spirit is very much alive in our church Pastor and congregation. I’m writing this comment to say you’re very much so correct in not just in my opinion how you lead this church and your sheep. Your educational teachings in scripture and finance through tithing is right on point with my beliefs. You want something BIG to happen give big. We can’t out give the Lord. That’s one promise he does allow us to test him on. Over 29 years ago I decided I wanted to work for myself. I was making approx $130.00 per day gross before taxes were taken out and other debits state federal and or personal. I decided if I go out and cut grass and work all day non through Friday I can have weekends off with my family one day. I can opt to not work holidays and as they as I live below my means I will be able to make it. I will say there has been is and will be bouts with finances. Although to make my point I started in faith and didn’t look back. As NORMAN VINCENT PEAL says “Throw your heart over the bar your body will follow” I have been with money and without money but the wealth I find does not stem from money. Dollars and cents is not what drives me it being able to be in control of my time that is the true wealth builder for me. To be able to spend time with my kids and working with my wife. Being able to facilitate tasks and duties and to be instrumental providing for my family and in many cases others. Money is nice and there will always be problems having money and what to effectively do with it or not having money and can’t do much of anything. Although lack of money sometimes is what bri gs us all closer to the Lord. Sometimes on our knees is where the lord wants us and uses sparsity of money to get us there. True wealth is the relationship with he the Holy Spirit and redeemer JESUS CHRIST and our Heavenly Father God ALL MIGHTY all powerful creator and Master of the universe. Pastor Ed “Gods the heavy weight champion of the World”. Thank you for all your contributions and continued work and I pray the Lord as he allows us to give through CBC , HE gives through you and our other leaders as well. Amen
