You’re Richer Than You Realize

“My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19

When people think about wealth, money is usually the first thing that comes to mind. Bank accounts, income, possessions, and security often become the measure of whether someone feels rich or poor. That way of thinking is common, but it is incomplete. Scripture points to a broader and more meaningful definition of wealth, one that goes far beyond numbers on a screen. God has given you far more than you may recognize, and much of it cannot be measured in dollars.

Your life is filled with different kinds of capital. Relationships are one of them. The people God has placed around you are not random. Family, friends, coworkers, and even brief encounters all carry potential for impact. The way you listen, encourage, forgive, and show love holds value that money cannot replace. God often works through relationships to bring healing, direction, and hope to others.

You also carry intellectual capital. The experiences you have lived through, the lessons you have learned, and the wisdom you have gained matter. Even painful seasons become resources when God redeems them. Your story can guide someone else. Your insight can bring clarity where confusion lives. What you know and how you apply it can influence lives in ways you may never fully see.

Physical strength and ability are other forms of wealth. Your time, energy, and skills are gifts entrusted to you. Whether strong or limited, every ability can be used with purpose. Serving others, showing up faithfully, and working with integrity all flow from what God has placed in your hands.

Above all, you are rich spiritually. If you belong to Christ, you have access to grace, forgiveness, peace, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. These are treasures the world cannot offer and cannot take away. God did not load your life with these resources so they would sit unused. He gave them so they could be poured out.

If you have ever felt like you do not have enough to make a difference, pause and take inventory. God has already supplied what you need to live with impact. You may not feel wealthy by worldly standards, but in God’s economy, you are rich. When you steward what He has given you with faith and gratitude, He multiplies it for His purposes.
