Better Today Than Yesterday

“This is the day which the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” - Psalm 118:24

Every believer knows what it feels like to look back on a moment and wish it had gone differently. Maybe you stayed silent when you wanted to speak. Maybe frustration got the best of you. Maybe fear held you back from something God placed on your heart. Those regrets can linger if you let them, but Scripture reminds you of something far better. God works in days, not just in seasons. He gives fresh opportunities, new mercies, and a clean slate every single morning.

Spiritual growth has never meant perfection. Growth is measured in direction, not flawlessness. You are not judged by how often you stumble but by whether you keep walking. God already knows the parts of your life that still need shaping, and He does not discard you because of them. Instead, He invites you to rise again with the confidence that today can look different from yesterday. That is how transformation takes place. One decision at a time. One step at a time. One renewed moment of obedience after another.

Think about how patient Jesus was with His disciples. They misunderstood Him. They doubted at the worst moments. They argued about their own greatness. Yet every new day brought a new chance to grow. Jesus corrected them, taught them, and lifted them when they fell. Not once did He establish perfection as the requirement. He simply called them to follow Him again in the next moment.

That same grace covers you. Whatever happened yesterday is not a prophecy about tomorrow. God does not hold your last mistake over your head. He offers strength where you feel weak, courage where you feel hesitant, and clarity where you feel confused. When you bring your regret to Him, He replaces it with direction. When you offer your day to Him, He uses it for growth.

Let today be another step forward. Speak when He prompts you. Love boldly. Walk in obedience even if it feels small. Every act of faith, no matter how simple, becomes part of the story God is writing in you. You are not trying to outdo yesterday. You are trusting God to shape you today. And that is enough to become who He created you to be.

Thank you from Peru. As soon as I get a chance to visit CBC I would like to get baptized and make CBC my home church. I love what you all are doing and hope and pray that my family and I can be a part of it.

nFor now would really love an online group to stay connected. Any chance? Thanks again.

Mikel ... I'm so happy about your decision to be baptized! I feel when the Spirit has given us that clarity to be baptized, out of obedience n following Him, we really need to be obedient ALL the way and that means not putting it off til you get to CBC. I'll pray for you to find a place, right near your home, to be baptized, even in a river! As far as an online group, please check out CBC's website and go to Group Finder, search for your preference of "ONLINE". Looking forward to meeting you one day at CBC! May the LORD bless you and all of your family as your faith runneth over!
