The Journey to Your Dream

"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today." - Genesis 50:20

When God gives you a dream, it’s easy to assume the path to it will be smooth. You picture open doors, favor, and a straight shot to the top. But what if the road God takes you on looks nothing like you expected? What if it’s filled with betrayal, setbacks, and seasons where it feels like everything is working against you?

That’s exactly what happened to Joseph. God gave him a vision of greatness, one where he would rise to a position of leadership and influence. But before that dream became a reality, Joseph had to walk through some of the hardest seasons of his life. His own brothers betrayed him. He was sold into slavery. He was falsely accused and thrown into prison. He spent years in a place that looked nothing like the promise God had given him.

Maybe you can relate. You know God has placed something in your heart, but your current circumstances feel so far from that vision. Instead of progress, you feel stuck. Instead of favor, you’re facing obstacles. Instead of breakthrough, you feel like you’ve been thrown into a pit.

But here’s what you need to remember: the process is part of the preparation. The hardships Joseph endured weren’t detours, they were the very things that shaped him into the leader God called him to be. The trials weren’t a sign that the dream was dead. They were the tools God used to build his character, strengthen his faith, and position him for the very thing He had promised.

Your journey won’t always be sunshine and rainbows. There will be moments when it feels like nothing is working out. But don’t let the difficulty make you doubt the dream. God isn’t wasting your struggle. He’s using it. The setbacks, the delays, the challenges – each one is preparing you for the place He has destined you to be.

I want to encourage you not to quit in the middle of the process. Keep trusting. Keep growing. Keep moving forward. Because just like Joseph, when the time is right, you’ll look back and realize that everything you went through was setting you up for the dream God always had for you.

Thank you Pastor Ed. If He did it before I have faith that He is doing it again. And hopefully it’s like Pastor Mike sings in it’s gonna be BIG. LOL.
