A Mind Set on the Spirit

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." - Proverbs 23:7

The way you think shapes the way you live. The thoughts you allow to take root in your heart become the reality you walk in. If you constantly dwell on fear, doubt, or shame, those things begin to define you, even when they’re not true. But when you receive the Holy Spirit, everything changes.

There is a transformational reality happening inside of you. The old way of thinking, the mindset bound by sin and self, is being replaced with a new way of seeing the world. Romans 8 says that those who set their minds on the things of the flesh will reap death, but those who set their minds on the Spirit will walk in life and peace.

Have you ever noticed that two people can go through the same storm but experience it completely differently? One is crushed by it, while the other walks through it with confidence in God. What’s the difference? Mindset. One is ruled by fear, the other is led by the Spirit.

If your mind is set on the flesh, on what you can control, what you fear, or what you lack, you’ll always feel like you’re drowning. But if your mind is set on the Spirit, you’ll begin to see that God has already set you free. You don’t have to live under the weight of condemnation because there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. You don’t have to be controlled by your past because Jesus already dealt with your sin. You don’t have to strive to prove yourself because you are already accepted by God.

What would happen if you truly believed that? If you stopped letting your old mindset dictate your life and started seeing things through the lens of the Spirit?

God has already done the work. He has broken the chains. He has given you the Spirit of life and peace. Now, it’s your choice; will you continue to live like you’re still bound? Or will you set your mind on the Spirit and walk in the freedom He has already given you?

Thank you for this wonderful message. Truly I must say that our God has given us a great gift of the Holy Spriit. Today that is why I am still here. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

Yeah it takes some action on my part. Praying. Reading scripture. Putting into practice what I’ve read and heard. Then also failing. Praying some more. Finally surrendering only to realize what I thought was going in the wrong direction actually is God doing something special in a way I couldn’t have done myself. His ways are higher than my ways. His thoughts higher than my thoughts. Thank you Pastor Ed. Hailing from Mansfield Louisiana this time. I’m looking forward to service this weekend on YouTube.
