Shoes of the Gospel of Peace

"And, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace." – Ephesians 6:15

Imagine trying to fight a battle on slippery ground with no grip, no stability, and nothing keeping you from losing your footing. That’s what it’s like trying to stand firm without the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace. And here’s the thing. The enemy knows how to create unstable ground. He knows how to make your circumstances feel chaotic, confusing, and out of control.

Back in the day, Roman soldiers wore shoes with cleats or spikes to help them stand their ground during battle. They were designed to keep them steady when the enemy tried to push them back. Without those shoes, they would have easily slipped, lost their balance, and ultimately been defeated.

That’s why God tells you to put on the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace. It’s about having a firm foundation. It’s about being so grounded in His truth that no matter how much the enemy tries to shove you backward, you can stand your ground.

The Gospel of Peace isn’t just about feeling calm or relaxed. It’s about knowing your identity, knowing your covering, and knowing that you are anointed by God. It’s about standing firm on the truth that you belong to Him. That your salvation is secure. That His promises are unshakeable.

But here’s the problem. Too many people are trying to walk through life without their shoes on. They’re trying to face the battles of life without being rooted in the truth of the Gospel. And the result? They keep getting pushed back. They keep losing their footing. They keep slipping into defeat.

When you wear the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, you are ready. You are prepared. You are grounded in something greater than your circumstances. And no matter how slippery life gets, you can stand firm.

The enemy wants you to believe you’re unsteady, that you’re not truly covered, that you can’t stand strong. But God says otherwise. He has given you everything you need to stand your ground and move forward in victory.

In the past couple months I’ve had a build up of things happening. I am viewing this now with respect to the readings you have been sharing in a different perspective. My “friend” tried to set me up to get fired. Got rear ended by someone who won’t let their insurance pay. My kids dying for attention I haven’t been able to give them and acting out. Among some other things it’s my birthday yesterday and my dad forgets. I’m his only son. I’m usually pretty tough but yesterday was filled with sadness for some reason. I thought about my poor family having to deal with that so i devoted my time to playing with my son. Took him to the park for awhile at church too. Went out to eat. Get a call. An old friend of mine jumped off a bridge. We get home. My son starts throwing up. I love God and I know He loves me. After all this “stuff” I got something even better. Answers. I pray for wisdom every day. I ask Him to help us be better parents friends brothers sons and workers. We raise our kids the best we know how and sometimes like me we don’t know how wrong our own child hood was. So I got a nugget of wisdom. And my life for that matter.
