Desperate for Truth
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." - Matthew 4:4
When you have a problem, how fast do you reach for your phone? Whether it is a symptom you are worried about, a tough decision you need to make, or just something random that pops into your head. You probably search for answers immediately. We live in a world where information is always at our fingertips. Google, YouTube, AI—you name it, we can find it in seconds.
But here’s the question: when it comes to real life, the stuff that actually matters, are we seeking God’s Word with that same kind of urgency? Or have we gotten so used to chasing quick fixes and surface-level answers that we forget the truth we need most is found in Him?
Jesus said we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from God. Think about that. His Word is not just something nice to have. It is your lifeline. Your spiritual survival depends on it. Yet too often, we treat it like a backup plan instead of a first response.
When you are desperate for an answer, you search until you find it. You don’t give up after a quick glance. That is how we need to pursue God’s Word: hungry, desperate, and unwilling to settle for anything less than His truth. Because the reality is, you need His wisdom, His promises, and His guidance more than you need anything else.
The world will offer you advice, opinions, and shortcuts. But only God’s Word can offer you life. Only His truth cuts through the noise and leads you into peace, purpose, and strength.
So today, make it personal. Open your Bible not because you should, but because you must. Search it like your life depends on it, because it does. Let God’s Word be the first place you run to when you need direction, comfort, and hope. The more you seek Him, the more you will find the answers your heart has been craving all along.
