Lessons from Abraham

“And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.” – Genesis 15:6

Abraham’s story starts with one command that changed everything: “Go.” Leave your country. Leave your comfort zone. Leave what is familiar and walk into a future you cannot see. God gave him a promise, not a map. And Abraham followed. He did not have all the answers, and he definitely did not have a perfect record, but he chose to walk in faith even when the road was unclear.

One of the most powerful things about Abraham’s life is that he believed God when it made no sense to. God told him he would be the father of many nations, yet he had no children and was growing old. From a human perspective, the timeline did not add up. But God does not work according to our clock. He works according to His promise.

That’s what you need to hold on to. You may be walking through a season that does not look like what God promised you. You may be stuck in the middle between “Go” and “There it is.” But if God said it, He will do it. Abraham's life reminds you that the promise still stands even when the process feels long.

Along the way, Abraham made mistakes. He tried to control the outcome. He got impatient. He did things his own way. But God stayed faithful. Because God does not abandon you when you fall short. His promise is not based on your perfection. It is based on His character.

If you are feeling discouraged or unsure today, let Abraham’s story give you perspective. What God starts, He finishes. Your job is not to see the full picture. Your job is to keep walking. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Because like Abraham, you are not walking alone. You are walking with the God who keeps His promises.
