Faithful Doesn’t Mean Fast

"But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." – Romans 8:25

We live in a microwave world. Two minutes feels too long. We track shipping updates like our lives depend on it. If a video takes more than five seconds to load, we swipe to the next one. And without realizing it, we carry that same mindset into our faith.

But God doesn’t work on your timeline. Just because you're being obedient doesn't mean the results are going to show up overnight. Faithfulness doesn't always lead to quick results. Sometimes it leads to waiting. Sometimes it leads to silence. Sometimes it leads to a longer road than you planned. But none of that means God isn't moving.

When you plant a seed, you don’t see the growth immediately. You water it. You nurture it. You wait. The same is true with what God is doing in your life. You might be sowing in obedience today without seeing fruit, but that doesn't mean it's not growing. You may feel overlooked, underused, or forgotten, but God is not slow. He’s strategic.

God is always on time, but rarely early. The process you’re walking through right now may be the very thing that’s building your endurance, stretching your trust, and preparing your heart for what’s next. He cares more about who you’re becoming than how fast you’re arriving.

Romans 8:25 says, “But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” That’s not easy in a world that moves at lightning speed. But God’s timing produces a deeper faith. It teaches you to rely on Him, not the outcome.

So keep being faithful. Keep showing up. Keep trusting God when it’s slow, quiet, and unclear. Just because you don’t see immediate results doesn’t mean He’s forgotten you. The blessing is never rushed. And when it comes, you’ll be glad you stayed patient.
Faithfulness may not always be fast, but it is always worth it.

Feeling grateful for sure. Thank you Pastor Ed! When I place the direction of my life in Gods hands it always goes better than what I could have done. You sure are right though. I’ve had some times where it starts to look like it might be going in the wrong direction. During those times my fear is always that maybe I’m the one doing something to cause the problems. Never God letting me down. My hope is that same hope I had when i started though. That He knows me at my worst and how helpless i am without Him. I needed a God to be so big that my weakness wouldn’t be able to get in the way of His power. That’s what i found too! Hes so much bigger than my little flaws and failures. I just have had to hang on and keep trusting Him.
