Keep Coming Back

"For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity." – Proverbs 24:16

You’re going to mess up. No matter how much you love Jesus, no matter how committed you are to His purpose, you are going to fall short. It’s not something to celebrate, but it is something to expect. Being human means you will battle temptation, you will make poor choices, and you will have days where you miss the mark.

But what separates the person who grows in their faith from the one who stays stuck is that they keep coming back. Every time they fall, they rise again. Every time they blow it, they turn and run to the God who still loves them. The worst thing you can do when you mess up is to believe the lie that God doesn’t want you anymore. That He’s disappointed in you. That you’ve crossed a line that disqualifies you from His plan.

That lie keeps you stuck. But the truth is, God already knew you were going to fall, and He chose you anyway. The cross wasn’t just for the first time you got saved. It covers the hundredth time, the thousandth time, and every failure in between.

The goal isn’t to live a perfect life. The goal is to live a surrendered life. And a surrendered life keeps coming back to the feet of Jesus. It repents, it realigns, and it receives the mercy and grace that He freely gives.

Proverbs 24:16 does not say the righteous never fall. It says they fall and rise again. Over and over. Not because of how strong they are, but because of how faithful God is.

If you’ve messed up, come back. If you’ve wandered off, come back. If you’ve made promises to God that you didn’t keep, come back. You are never too far gone.

He’s not asking for perfection. He’s asking for your heart. And no matter how many times it takes, He’ll be there when you return. Every time.
