Trust Him with Today

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6

I want to talk about something that might make someone uncomfortable. There are so many believers who say they trust Jesus for eternity, but then spend every day here on earth trying to control everything themselves. They’ll say, “Yes, I’ve given my life to Jesus, I know where I’m going when I die.” But then they panic about money, relationships, decisions, and direction, like it’s all on them. Think about that. You can trust Him with your forever, but you won’t trust Him with your next step?

If Jesus is big enough to save your soul, why would He not be faithful enough to guide your life? If He is worthy of your eternity, He is more than worthy of your today. Yet too often, we hand God our salvation, then try to take the steering wheel on everything else. We say “I’m saved,” but we still live like it’s all up to us.

The truth is, many of us fear what surrender might cost. We’re afraid to let go of control. We wonder what He might ask us to do, or what He might change. But here’s the thing. The same God who died for you is not trying to ruin your life. He’s trying to give you one. A full life. A life of purpose and peace. One that is shaped by something greater than fear, pressure, or performance.

What would it look like if you trusted God with your career, your marriage, your friendships, your plans, and your future the same way you’ve trusted Him with your salvation? What would happen if you stopped just believing in Him for the afterlife, and started following Him in this life?

If you’ve already trusted Him with your eternity, take the next step. Trust Him with your life, now. Every single day. He is faithful. He is good. And He knows exactly what you need. You do not have to live in fear when you walk with the One who holds everything together.
