Let God Rewrite the Story You’ve Been Telling Yourself

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works” - Ephesians 2:10

What if the biggest thing holding you back isn’t what others say about you but what you’ve been saying about yourself?

It’s easy to build a story in your head that’s based on your worst moments. Maybe you keep telling yourself you’re a failure because of something you did. Or you’ve convinced yourself you’ll never measure up. You rehearse shame on repeat. You shrink yourself down. You carry names God never gave you. But He’s not agreeing with that story.

God knows the whole truth, and He still calls you His. You are not your mistakes. You are not the sum of your insecurities. You are not whatever label someone else gave you in a moment of pain. You are God’s workmanship. That means you are handcrafted, deeply loved, and intentionally made for something more.

The story God tells over your life is not built on shame. It’s built on grace. He writes freedom where you’ve written failure. He speaks purpose where you’ve spoken doubt. And He is always ready to rewrite the narrative if you’re willing to let Him.

What story have you been believing that doesn’t line up with who God says you are? What if today you stopped repeating it? What if you laid down the script of guilt and picked up the truth of your identity in Christ? The lies lose their power when you stop letting them lead.

Let God have the pen. Give Him permission to rewrite the chapters you’ve tried to erase. He’s not finished with you, and the story isn’t over. Let Him tell it His way.
