The Persistent Love of God

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." - Luke 19:10

God’s love is relentless. It’s not the kind of love that gives up after one or two attempts to reach you. God is persistent—He chases after you, offering His love over and over again, regardless of how many times you’ve turned away. His love isn’t a one-time offer, and it’s not limited by our failures or our resistance. It’s unconditional, unrelenting, and unfailing.

Think about it like this: if a loving father wouldn’t give up on his child, how much more does God, your perfect heavenly Father, pursue you? His love is without flaw. It’s perfect in every way, and He wants you to experience it fully. Even when you push Him away, ignore His call, or live life on your terms, God doesn’t stop pursuing you. His love keeps coming, patiently and persistently.

You may have moments in life where you wonder if God has forgotten about you or if His love has grown cold. But the truth is, God is always offering His love to you. He is always seeking after you, like a shepherd who goes after one lost sheep. He never stops trying to draw you closer to Him because His love doesn’t have an expiration date. It is eternal, and His desire is for you to know Him deeply and to experience the fullness of His love.

God’s persistence isn’t a sign of His neediness but of His boundless love. He doesn’t pursue you because He lacks something; He pursues you because you are His creation, and He desires to pour out His perfect love on you. There’s nothing you can do to make Him stop. His love is that strong.

The question isn’t whether God is offering His love to you, it’s whether you’re willing to receive it. He’s knocking on the door of your heart, over and over again, waiting for you to let Him in. Will you let Him? Will you allow His persistent love to fill the empty spaces in your life? God won’t give up on you, so don’t let another moment go by without experiencing the depths of His love. His pursuit is relentless, and His love is waiting for you.

Amen! In a world that's so cold, and neverending information at our fingertips... It's easy to brush off God with quickie videos, vines, TikToks, Facebook and YouTube shorts throughout the day not realizing or maybe purposely not wanting to realize, a relationship is being bypassed with the Creator of the universe. I will commit to seeking out God throughout the day and night. This devotion is a reminder of who are heavenly Father is and what He yearns with each of us. Love it. God bless. In God we trust and in Jesus' mighty name!

Thank you for commenting! This is so aggravating at times. It’s like the whole world is asleep.

Thank you Pastor Ed. I count on his persistence. Without it I would be hopeless! His constant reassurance, love, and help I would feel abandoned. He knows this and continues to pick me up to I don’t fall.
