God Will Honor Your Obedience
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:9
Obedience isn’t always easy, especially when the reward doesn’t come right away. You do the right thing, you stay faithful, you make sacrifices for God, and yet… nothing seems to change. The breakthrough doesn’t come. The doors don’t open. The blessing feels delayed. And in those moments, it’s tempting to wonder, “Did God even see me? Did He forget? Does this even matter?”
But God always honors obedience. Always. Just not always in the timing you expect.
Look at Joseph. He obeyed God in every season: when he was a slave in Potiphar’s house, when he was falsely accused and thrown in prison, when he was forgotten by the very people he helped. He had every reason to believe that obedience wasn’t working. That God had overlooked him. That staying faithful wasn’t leading anywhere. But what Joseph didn’t know was that God was setting him up for something greater than he could imagine.
God doesn’t reward obedience immediately because He wants to see if your obedience is real. Are you following Him because you love Him or just because you want something from Him? If every act of faithfulness was instantly met with a blessing, would it even be faith?
God tests your patience because He’s refining your heart. He’s making sure that when He blesses you, you’ll be ready for it. That the blessing won’t become an idol. That success won’t pull you away from Him. He delays the reward to see if you will stay faithful, even when it’s hard, even when it’s slow, even when it feels like nothing is happening.
Now is no time to quit, my friend. Don’t let delay make you doubt. Every time you choose to obey, every time you remain faithful, every time you put God first, He sees it. And in due season, when the time is right, He will honor it. The reward may take longer than you want, but it will come. And when it does, you’ll see that it was worth the wait.

Today atleast I am glad I can see that He is my reward. On top of all my failure to be completely obedient too. Thank God for Jesus Christ our wonderful mediator. I was thinking about this obedience thing yesterday actually and wondering why we struggle so much in that. I can explain only so much that we are self centered with words but still doesn’t logically add up when compared with the horrific consequences and the great reward. Yet there it is. There was a time where I lost my way in the blessing. I mean, it really was amazing. It’s easy to get lost in how the world unfolds itself for you. Serves you. But really I missed the most important thing being the focus and center of it all. That His presence and love is to be valued above all else. This relationship with Him is everything. Not what He can provide us in worldly splendor. I ask for His forgiveness for that too. He is more than enough but I’m sure He understands all the worldly needs we have and how hard it can be to not be fearful over them. I’m grateful Pastor Ed. Thank you
