The One Degree Change

"Do not be deceived: 'Bad company ruins good morals.'" – 1 Corinthians 15:33

What would it look like to make a one-degree change today? Not trying to be perfect overnight, but just aiming to be one degree better than yesterday. It’s about making progress daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. So, how do you do that? You have to mind the gap.

Your choices have to be different. Your circles have to be different. So many people love to quote 1 Corinthians 15:33 to their kids. “Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals.’” But here’s the thing. That verse isn’t just for kids choosing school friends. It’s for you. It’s for all of us.

If you don’t like who you’re becoming, you have to ask yourself some hard questions. Who are you letting influence your life? Who are you comparing yourself to? Are you chasing after things you think will finally make you happy, only to end up feeling emptier?

Growth doesn’t just happen. It’s the result of making different choices. It’s recognizing that you can’t keep feeding your mind and heart with things that pull you away from God and expect to walk in the life He has for you. The reality is simple. You only have two choices: Pleasing God or Pleasing Self.

The one-degree change starts with surrendering your desires and influences to Him. It’s choosing to surround yourself with people who push you toward Jesus, not away from Him. It’s choosing His truth over the world’s lies. It’s deciding to pursue what’s pleasing to God, not just what feels good in the moment.

Every day, you get to decide which direction you’re heading. One degree at a time, God can transform your life. The question is, will you let Him?
