The Battle Belongs to the Lord
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9
There is real freedom in realizing that every fight you face is not yours to carry alone. We live in a world that tells us to push harder, fight harder, and figure it all out. But God’s Word offers a different perspective. When Joshua stood on the edge of leading an entire nation into the unknown, God’s command was clear: be strong, be courageous, and remember that He was with them every step of the way.
The key is how you frame what you are facing. Yes, your battle might feel overwhelming. The financial stress, the medical report, the broken relationship, or the impossible situation you are staring down right now might feel like more than you can handle. But hear this today: there is nothing you will ever face that is bigger than your God. Not one thing.
God does not ask you to pretend the struggle is small. He asks you to remember that He is bigger. Whatever giant is standing in front of you, whatever mountain seems immovable, God is not intimidated. And the truth of Scripture is simple but powerful: the battle is not yours. It belongs to Him.
You are called to do what you can do. To be faithful, to walk in obedience, to pray, to seek wisdom. But there always comes a moment when you hit your limit, when your strength is spent and your ideas run out. That is the moment to release it fully to God, to stop strategizing and stressing and striving, and to trust that He is fighting for you.
God never asked you to carry the full weight of the battle. He has already claimed it as His own. Whatever you are facing today, remind yourself that you are not alone, and you are not the one responsible for the victory. Your job is to be faithful and courageous, and His job is to bring the breakthrough. Rest in that truth. The battle belongs to the Lord.

Pastor Ed I really needed to hear this right now. God has done so much for me and life has gotten so much better. But at the same time I have become more aware of things I couldn’t see before too. Last night and this morning it has been a heavy weight on my soul. Thank you for carrying Gods message to us. Reminding me repeatedly that He is here with me fighting this battle. Thank you.
