Do You Have a Buffalo Mentality?

"The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble." - Psalm 9:9

Have you noticed that some storms in your life seem to keep circling back? The same struggles, the same battles, the same frustrations. It is like you can never fully outrun them, no matter how hard you try. There is a reason for that.

In the same pasture, cows and buffalo live side by side, but when a storm rolls in, they react in completely different ways. The cow runs away from the storm, trying to escape it. But here is the problem: the storm always catches up. Running from it only keeps the cow in the storm longer. The buffalo, on the other hand, runs straight into the storm. It charges toward it, faces it head-on, and because of that, it passes through the storm much quicker.

We can learn a lot from the buffalo. Some of you have been stuck in the same cycle, facing the same storm for years, because your default reaction is to run from it. Avoidance feels easier in the moment, but it keeps you trapped in the same place. You are praying for a different outcome, but nothing changes because you keep running the same way.

It is time to flip the frame. The storm you are facing is not bigger than your God. The trial that feels too heavy is no match for the One who has never lost a battle. God is undefeated. He is the heavyweight champion over every challenge, every fear, and every storm. When you step forward with boldness, calling on the name of Jesus, that storm has no choice but to break. The Bible tells us that even the devil trembles at His name.

It's time you embrace the buffalo mentality. Stop running from what God has equipped you to face. Trust that no situation is greater than your God. Charge toward the storm, knowing that He is your strength and your refuge. You do not have to fear what is ahead when you know who goes with you. Storms will come, but with God leading the way, you can walk through them in victory.
