Worth More
"For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." – Matthew 16:25
It’s easy to get caught chasing things. We chase security, success, affirmation, opportunities, and more. And in that chase, we sometimes start to believe that following Jesus means giving all that up. That surrendering to Him means missing out on something better.
But here’s the truth. What you have in Christ is always worth more than what you have without Him.
Without Christ, you might gain the job but still feel empty. You might be surrounded by people and still feel alone. You might check off every box on your life plan and still lie awake at night wondering why it’s not enough. But with Christ, you gain purpose. You gain peace. You gain identity. You gain joy that doesn’t fade when circumstances shift. And you gain a future that nothing on earth can match.
Jesus does not ask you to give things up because He wants you to lose. He invites you to surrender because He wants to give you something better. Something eternal. Something solid. What you have in Christ can’t be stolen, can’t be burned down, and doesn’t rise or fall with the economy, your reputation, or the approval of others.
Some of the richest people in the world are spiritually bankrupt. And some of the people with the least material wealth are overflowing with peace and joy because they know what they have in Jesus. That’s the kind of wealth that lasts.
If you're feeling torn between what the world offers and what God calls you to, choose Christ. It might not always look like the faster path, the flashiest reward, or the smoothest road. But it will always be worth more in the end. What you have in Him is unshakable. What you have in Him is real.
And one day, you’ll see it fully for what it is. A treasure that never fades. A Savior who never leaves. A life that is never wasted.
