You Are Not Behind
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:10
There’s a lie that far too many people silently carry. It’s the weight of feeling like you’re behind. Behind in life, behind in purpose, behind where everyone else seems to be. You scroll through social media, and it looks like everybody else is winning.
You see the houses, the families, the careers, the influence, and somewhere in your heart, you wonder if you missed your moment. You ask yourself if maybe you took too long, made too many wrong turns, or waited too late to get serious about God. But can I tell you something? You are not behind. Not when you’re walking with God.
God is not measuring your life by someone else’s timeline. He is not disappointed because you haven’t reached a certain milestone. He isn’t sitting on the sidelines waiting for you to catch up. He’s already working in you, preparing what He has for you, and shaping you into who you need to be to walk in it.
Your journey might look different from the people around you, but it doesn’t mean it’s any less important. In fact, the uniqueness of your path is proof of God’s intentionality. You are His workmanship. That means you were handcrafted, not mass-produced.
What if the time you feel like you wasted was actually time God was using to refine you? What if the waiting was the training ground? What if the detours were part of the design? You may not be where you want to be yet, but that doesn’t mean you’re late.
God does not operate on the same clock we do. His timing is perfect, and He has not overlooked you. He sees you. He’s with you. And He’s not done with you. You are not behind. You are right where you need to be for what God is doing in your life right now. Keep walking with Him. Keep trusting Him. And stop comparing your chapter three to someone else’s chapter twenty. God’s not in a rush. And neither should you be.
