You Are Not Too Far Gone for God to Use You
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable" - Romans 11:29
There is something the enemy would love for you to believe, and maybe you already do. It’s the idea that because of what you did, because of how long you stayed away, or because of how far you ran, you are no longer useful to God. That His calling must have moved on to someone cleaner, more faithful, more qualified. But that is not how grace works.
You might think you’re the exception. You might think your story disqualifies you. But let’s talk about that. Because the Bible is filled with stories of people who messed up deeply and still walked in God’s power. Moses murdered. David committed adultery and had the man’s wife killed. Paul persecuted Christians. These are not minor slip-ups. These are devastating failures. And yet God still chose them.
God’s call on your life is not fragile. It is not something that disappears the moment you blow it. His grace does not expire, and His plans do not crumble when you do. If anything, your comeback is part of the calling. Your redemption story becomes part of the message.
The thing is, God never asked you to be flawless. He asked you to be faithful. And faithfulness starts right where you are. Not after you’ve cleaned up your image. Not after you’ve strung together six months of good behavior. But now. With tear-streaked cheeks and trembling hands, if that’s what it takes. All God is looking for is a willing heart and a surrendered spirit.
The question is not if God can still use you. The question is if you’ll stop running long enough to let Him. Will you trust that His mercy is greater than your mess? Will you believe that what He placed in you has not been removed, only waiting to be revived?
You are not too far gone. You are not too broken. You are not too late. Your failure is not the final chapter. God still writes new ones, and He’s not done with your story yet.
