You Are Chosen, Not Just Saved
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" - 1 Peter 2:9
When it comes to your relationship and journey with God, salvation isn’t the finish line. It’s the starting point. Too many believers stop at being saved and never step into being sent. But God didn’t just pull you out of darkness to leave you standing there. He pulled you out so you could walk in purpose. You are not just forgiven. You are chosen.
Being chosen means you were set apart on purpose. God did not just hand out a generic plan for all Christians. He picked you to carry something unique. There’s a reason you are where you are. The people in your life, the gifts you carry, the story you’ve lived through, they’re not accidents. They're part of a divine assignment.
We often miss this because we are so focused on our shortcomings. We talk ourselves out of being used by God before we even ask Him what He wants to do. But calling is not about qualifications. It is about availability. It is about willingness. And it is about waking up every day knowing you were chosen for something that matters.
You were not saved to sit still. You were not redeemed to play it safe. The same grace that rescued you is the grace that empowers you. And the world needs you walking in your calling. Not next year. Not when things calm down. Right now. You are chosen for this moment.
What are you doing with the life you were chosen to live? Are you treating your salvation like the end of the road, or are you letting God send you into what He’s called you to do? You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need to be available. Chosen people don’t wait for permission. They walk in obedience.

I really appreciate you sending these. I struggle with a couple things. Obedience and directions. lol. A few years ago when I was at the lowest point of my life I felt like I had ever been. The big question of course was how do I get my family and my life back? Is it even possible. So of course the Holy Spirit is most definitely a Helper. He showed me the answer in the form of a calendar. It was filled with notes every day. Leave, together, push, pull. Lots of things I couldn’t read in the vision. It was complicated to say the least but yes possible. I was motivated. I was ready. The message is clear now. When God put His hands on me that was it. I’m all in. And I was all in then too. With God we cannot fail. He knows where I am gonna mess up. He knows when I will do well, get confused etc. sounds crazy and it still does sometimes but He told me very clearly now, instead of you confirming to the system the system conforms to you. Love yall. GOD IS GOOD
Thank you for you testimony. I love these daily devotionals, but I also look forward to reading replies testifying how God has worked in your life, or, just as important, what you are doing to spread His love by your testimony. God speed
Thank you for this. I've been feeling a pulling at my heart to move closer to the things of God. I'm walking in that obedience. I am trying to draw nearer to God. I want to be a reflection of God's heart in my life. These devos help me so much, and give me pause to search my heart and life.
I pray that I seek My Lord sometimes I struggle with some issues when people do me wrong when I try so hard to help others and then I’m treated harshly. But you know what I’m trying to just let that go and live my life according to Our Lord. I pray I make sense. Love you Pastor Ed and your family ??
Great message it feels like your speaking directly to my situation, and I love it thank you pastor
