Provision on the Path

"And Abraham called the name of that place, 'The Lord will provide'" - Genesis 22:14

Most of us want God to provide everything up front. We want a clear plan, a stocked supply, and a guarantee that the road will be smooth. But that’s not usually how God works. He often provides what you need as you take the next step of faith. Not before it. Not all at once. But just in time.

Abraham had to walk up that mountain with Isaac, trusting that God would somehow make a way. The provision didn’t show up in his hand. It showed up on the journey. If he had stayed at the bottom of the hill waiting for confirmation, he never would have seen the ram in the thicket. The miracle was waiting in the place of obedience.

This is what makes faith both beautiful and difficult. God rarely gives us the full picture ahead of time. He gives us enough light for the next step and asks us to trust Him with the rest. That means sometimes you walk even when you’re uncertain. You obey even when you’re scared. And you keep going even when you don’t yet see the provision.

The truth is, God always provides for His people. But He often does it in ways that grow us. He wants to build our faith, not just solve our problems. He wants to teach us dependence, not just comfort. So instead of waiting for everything to be perfect, trust that what you need will meet you on the path. Keep walking.

If you’re in a season where you don’t have all the answers or all the resources, don’t let that stop you. God isn’t late. He’s preparing the right thing at the right time. Your job is to move in obedience and let Him handle the rest. The ram is coming, but you’ll only see it if you keep walking up the mountain.
