Obedience Opens the Door
"And in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice" - Genesis 22:18
God does not waste our obedience. It may feel quiet in the moment. It may feel hard. But make no mistake, every act of surrender is planting a seed that leads to blessing. Abraham could have questioned, delayed, or resisted. Instead, he obeyed. And the blessing that followed was not just for him. It rippled into generations.
We often want the blessing before the obedience. We want proof before we step out. But that is not how faith works. God calls us to trust first, move first, and obey first. Then watch what He does with it. He meets us on the other side of our yes. Not just with provision. Not just with direction. But with a deeper encounter with His presence and power.
Obedience is not about impressing God. It is about positioning your heart to receive from Him. It is about aligning with His purpose so He can pour out more than you thought to ask for. What looks like sacrifice on your end is often the very thing that unlocks a greater measure of grace and favor from Him.
You may be standing on the edge of a decision right now. It might feel costly. But if God is leading you, there is something on the other side that you cannot afford to miss. It may not come instantly. But the blessing is there. And not just for you. Someone else might be blessed through your obedience.
There is always more of God waiting on the other side of your yes. Trust Him with the next step and let Him handle what comes after it.

Some really amazing quotes this morning Pastor Ed!
nThank you so much for this!
God bless you Pastor Ed. Thank you for sharing the truth with us and still finding a way to build us up in Christ. You are right. I absolutely want the blessing before the obedience. The truth is we are already blessed. Looking at my life I see far beyond what I deserve and I believe it is because of His goodness. However I do desire to get stronger in obedience. Following the path that is righteousness in itself is a reward for me. And to be useful in that way gives me great purpose. I really appreciate you continuing with this topic multiple days. I certainly can’t read it enough.
