God Doesn’t Need the Outcome to Be Certain to Move
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” - 2 Corinthians 5:7
When it comes to moving in the direction God has called us to, most of us want to see the full picture before we take the first step. We want confirmation, clarity, and guarantees. But that is not how God works. He does not wait for the outcome to be obvious before He starts moving. He is not limited by uncertainty, and He does not need everything lined up before He starts showing up.
If you are holding back because you are unsure how it all turns out, you might be waiting on the wrong thing. God’s movement does not depend on your certainty. He moves because He is faithful, not because you feel confident. The Bible is full of moments where people stepped into uncertainty and found that God was already working on the other side of their obedience.
When you follow God’s leading without all the details, you put yourself in the middle of a miracle. It is often in the uncertain places where His presence is most clearly seen. Why? Because you know you could not have done it without Him.
If your heart is telling you to wait until things feel safe or secure, pause and ask yourself what God is really asking. Is He calling you to wait or to trust? You can have questions and still obey. You can feel unsure and still move forward. What matters is not whether you know the outcome. What matters is that you trust the One who does.
Uncertainty is not a stop sign to God. It is a starting line. If He is leading, you can follow with confidence, even if the road ahead is foggy. You do not have to know how it will all work out to know that God will be with you every step of the way.

Good morning Pastor Ed. Reading this morning’s devotion reminds me when God parted the Red Sea. What would have happened if they would have been afraid to walk through on dry land. Or if Jesus would have changed his mind about us and decided not to come. I’m sure Moses and the Israelites wanted everything to be crystal clear before they moved. Even in their uncertainty and complaining God still moved! Walking by faith and not by sight may not always be easy. But because of who holds tomorrow it is worth the walk!!!!
