All In, All the Time
"I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth." – Revelation 3:15-16
Following Jesus is not a halfway commitment. He never called anyone to dip their toe in the water or test the temperature. He called people to drop their nets. To leave everything. To die to themselves. And He is still calling people to that kind of surrender today.
The truth is, God has never been impressed with casual Christianity. He is not looking for weekend faith or part-time obedience. He is not interested in people who show up to church but live for the world the rest of the week. He is looking for followers who are all in, all the time.
That might sound extreme. It is. Jesus never sugarcoated the cost. He said to take up your cross daily and follow Him. He warned that it might divide families, test friendships, or cost you the comfort you once knew. But He also promised something no one else can offer. Life. Purpose. Eternity. Hope.
The problem with being lukewarm is that you think you’re okay. You think you’re close enough to Jesus to feel safe, but still close enough to the world to feel comfortable. That’s not safety. That’s spiritual deception. And Jesus said He would rather you be cold than lukewarm. At least then you would know something is missing.
Going all in might cost you something. But it will give you more than it ever takes from you. God can do more with full surrender than we could ever do by holding on to control. When you finally go all in, you stop living in the tension. You stop asking how much you can get away with. And you start experiencing the fullness of life with Jesus.
So what’s holding you back? What part of your heart is still off limits? What habits or relationships or fears are keeping you from giving everything to God?
Today is your invitation. Not to be perfect. But to be fully His. Jesus gave everything for you. Will you give everything to follow Him?

The more that gets added to my life the more I have to submit. Sometimes I still have desire for the outcomes to go the way “I” want and when God decides differently it kinda puts me in check. That’s where I need to submit and it can be a process at times. I wish it was always easy but for me it’s not. Some things are easier than others. But I can still rejoice! And be grateful in all circumstances. Read a verse the other day that said that is Gods will for us in Christ Jesus. Seems like no question goes unanswered if I just keep looking long enough. :)
