Why Not Me?
“But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong.” - 1 Corinthians 1:27
Have you ever found yourself wondering, “Why would God want to use me?” Maybe you feel unqualified or weighed down by doubts, mistakes, or insecurities. You look at your life and think, “Surely, God has someone better in mind.” But the truth is that God isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for obedience and faith.
Throughout the Bible, we see God using ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Moses doubted his ability to speak, yet God used him to lead an entire nation out of slavery. Gideon saw himself as the least in his family, but God called him a mighty warrior and used him to deliver Israel. Peter was impulsive and flawed, but Jesus called him the rock on which the church would be built. These people could have let their doubts hold them back, but they chose to trust that God’s plan was greater than their limitations.
You may not see yourself as someone who can do great things, but God does. He doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. What’s holding you back? Is it fear of failure? Is it the voice in your head saying you’re not good enough? Whatever it is, it’s time to silence those doubts and believe what God says about you.
Instead of asking, “Why me?” start asking, “Why not me?” Why shouldn’t God use you to make an impact in your family, your community, or even the world? He has a plan for your life that is greater than anything you can imagine. But stepping into that plan requires faith. It requires you to trust that God’s power is made perfect in your weakness.
If you’re willing to say yes to God, He can use you to do incredible things. It won’t always be easy, and it might not look the way you expect, but it will always be worth it. Don’t let doubt hold you back. God has chosen you for a purpose. Believe it, step into it, and watch what He will do through you.

So far I’m still not sure what my purpose is entirely. Maybe that’s a good thing. If I knew what it was I would probably find a way to constrain it and form into something I already formed an idea about. Maybe it’s just really enjoying life. It certainly has been getting a lot more enjoyable. I found myself thinking about that yesterday at work about how my time spent not working has just gotten so full of joy in the past year. It just keeps getting better and better and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt it’s God doing things. I’m watching not only my life be restored but seeing others lives being transformed by putting their faith in Jesus Christ. I’m seeing the Holy Spirit enter their lives. Having had the most amazing thing ever in life happen to me is very cool but not being able to share it with anyone has definitely been a bummer. The first thing I wanted to do was tell everyone I cared about. They just had to experience what I was. But nobody really cared. Now I’m seeing God change peoples hearts. It makes me so happy.
