Making Things New
"Behold, I am making all things new." – Revelation 21:5
There’s something powerful about that word: new. A new start. A new chapter. A new heart. A new direction. It carries hope. It carries healing. And the good news is that this is exactly what God loves to do. He is not the God of patchwork or quick fixes. He is the God who makes all things new.
That means your past does not get the final word. The mistakes, the regrets, the years you thought were wasted, none of that is beyond His reach. When you pray for God to make things new, you’re not asking Him to erase what happened. You’re asking Him to redeem it. You’re asking Him to write a new ending, to bring beauty from ashes, and to restore what was broken. And He can.
Maybe you’re walking through a season that feels dry or stuck. Maybe something in your life feels dead. A dream that faded. A relationship that fractured. A purpose that once burned but now feels distant. Hear this clearly. God is not finished. What looks dead to you is not dead to Him. What seems lost is not beyond recovery. If you give it to God, He can breathe life into places you thought were too far gone.
When you pray for God to make things new, you’re aligning your heart with His character. You’re putting your trust not in the outcome, but in the One who makes all things possible. And you’re saying, “God, I believe you can bring renewal where there has only been ruin. I believe you can bring light where there’s only been darkness.”
This prayer is not just about change. It’s about transformation. It’s about believing that God still has more ahead for you, even when your current reality doesn’t reflect it yet. Let that be your prayer today. Not for things to go back to how they were, but for God to make them brand new. Because He can. And He will.
