The Great I AM
"God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM.' And he said, 'Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” - Exodus 3:14
Did you know that when God called Moses, he didn’t feel qualified? When God called him to confront Pharaoh and demand the release of the Israelites, Moses didn’t focus on God’s power or the mission ahead. Instead, he zeroed in on his own shortcomings. “I’m not a good speaker,” he told God. In his mind, his stutter or lack of eloquence disqualified him from such an important task. But God’s response shifted the entire focus: “I AM WHO I AM.”
God wasn’t asking Moses to rely on his own abilities. He was asking Moses to trust in Him, the One with unlimited power. The One who created Moses’ mouth and could use it however He pleased. God wasn’t looking at Moses’ limitations. He was revealing His own limitless nature. The issue was never about what Moses could or couldn’t do. It was about what God could and would do through him.
How often do you find yourself feeling like Moses? Maybe you sense God calling you to step into something greater, but you can’t get past your perceived inadequacies. You might think, “I’m not smart enough, experienced enough, or talented enough.” But God’s power isn’t limited by your weaknesses. As we said yesterday, He doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called.
The great I AM is the same God today. His power remains unlimited, and His promises never fail. He’s not asking you to be perfect or to have it all figured out. He’s asking you to trust Him and take the next step, even if you feel unqualified. Your doubts and fears may seem overwhelming, but they pale in comparison to the power of the One who called you.
When God calls you, don’t look at your limitations. Look at His greatness. Trust that the same God who empowered Moses to face Pharaoh is ready to equip you for the challenges ahead. Whatever He has placed in your heart, step forward boldly, knowing the great I AM goes with you.

When I am weak, He is strong. For me this is part of my usefulness. The glory is His. Without me you can do nothing.
